STOP VIOLENCE

From time immemorial, the girl child has been victimized. Our African setting highly values the male sex prioritizing them to every advantage. China has had a dented history of women aborting female foetuses implying that stigmatization begins as early as from conception. Religious intolerance is purely against us. Women in some churches although this is changing, are not allowed to stand in pulpits let alone lead prayers in the presence of men. Some have to cover themselves from head to toe in the pretext of not misleading MEN who I stand to be corrected, are in this sense but weak beings. No wonder man had to live outside the Garden of Eden with Eve than inside it alone! The woman has been denied her right to liberty.

An example is given of the Iranian lady who is currently facing death penalty for committing adultery…where is her counterpart? It takes two to tango. In one of the Arabic nations, a woman is subjected to imprisonment if RAPED. On provision of 3 MALE witnesses to prove that indeed she was UNWILLINGLY raped, can a trial take place. The accuser becomes the accused? How ironic! These are just but examples. As if that is not enough, MALE suicide bombers are on the rise blowing themselves up presumably in the belief that they would be greeted in paradise by innumerable virgins waiting to pleasure them……
To be candid, how can we empower women living in such settings who have been victimized to rise above their cultural and religious beliefs without contradicting what others believe?
