Sports Reporting

The first duty of a reporter is to do the right job and not jeopardize anyone’s life. 

News gathering process does not rely on leak journalism [stories relying on unnamed sources] but instead relies on enterprise journalism by digging through boring records and staying enthusiastic. 

But it is a genuine pain in the neck sometimes to have to keep statistics and never get to see a game as much it’s a pleasure to see kids play games for the fun of it and seeing smiles on sportsmen faces as much as their tears when they lose because, emotions are honest.

There is a logical problem when covering sports events. A lot of times sportsmen leave almost immediately after the game. One almost has to tackle them to get an interview. Here is a strategy, hit the losing players first- they tend to be the ones who want to get out of a stadium or playground quickly. Also, by getting to them immediately after the game, one often gets a very honest reaction from them…GOTCHA
