Balanced Reporting

The face of a man gives us a fuller and more interesting information than his tongue for his face is a summary of all he will ever say.

The schools of thought say that balanced reporting is one of the major pillars of journalism.  Critically looking at the Arab uprising I think the media has somehow failed in this objective. (an unbiased opinion) A case study on Libya in particular makes me wonder where anti democracy supporters are. 

All we hear or see is pro democracy supporters did this and that little or no coverage gets to the other side.  As for the case of Ivory Coast there is some coverage other sides of the coin although one side tends to get more coverage than the other.

Some will argue that it is hard or almost impossible to access the other side and foreign journalists have become human targets and for the sake of their safety, keep to the favourable side.

Others say that anti democracy supporters including Gadaffi himself don’t want to be interviewed but at the end of the day, credit should be given to media tools for allowing radical change within that region but as they say, information is power and so is powerful balanced reporting!
